Meet the experienced doctors at Fitzgerald Family Eyecare.
Dr. Ellen Fitzgerald
Dr. Ellen Drury Fitzgerald completed undergraduate studies at South Georgia College in Douglas, Ga., and at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn., in 2003. She completed internships at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Ga., and at Eye Associates of Southeast Georgia in Valdosta. Dr. Fitzgerald worked as an Associate Optometrist with Dr. John Zechman in Waycross, Ga., before opening her private practice in Douglas in May 2005. She is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Her civic memberships include the Douglas Lions Club, the Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, and the Coffee County Low Vision Support Group. Dr. Fitzgerald and her husband Clay have two children, Aubree and Asher.
Dr. Kenneth Trevor Shealy
Dr. Kenneth Trevor Shealy is from Cordele, Ga where he graduated from Crisp County High School. He completed undergraduate studies at Point University in West Point, Ga where he majored in Biology and minored in Biblical studies. Dr. Shealy graduated from Point University Summa Cum Laude. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn. During his time in optometry school, he received the 2019 VSP/AAOF Practice Excellence Award and was a Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometry Honor Society Member. He completed internships at Georgia Eye Partners in Atlanta, Ga and Dorfzaun Eye Group in Marietta, Ga. Dr. Shealy has interests in specialty contact lenses, myopia control, ocular disease, and sports vision. He likes to spend his spare time watching and playing sports, exercising, and spending time with friends and family.
